 Check this out!
November 24th is fast approaching. However it has come to our notice that SOME bad sales people from some distributors/resllers and manufacturers are totally misleading customers. Either by design or by ignorance.
There is NO NEW LAW called NFPA 1901! Is is a standard issued by NFPA for new emergency service vehicles sold from January 1st 2009 and is NOT retroactive and is NOT a NEW LAW to MAKE service personel wear an ANSI 207-2006 vest supplied with the vehicle OR that needs to worn instead of an ANSI 107-2004 vest. Jusat plain WRONG! If this issue has you concerened please feel free to call us and we will guide you down the correct path for your vest needs. No hard sell from us, just plain facts and education, then you will have all the current, correct information and then you can make an informed decision that may well save you a ton of money. If fact some depts. we have discussed this issue with actually didn't need to change their vests at all! So be warned the sharks are out there to grab your hard earned cash and not consider your actual needs and requirements when aligned with the law.

Our quality speaks for itself. Our vests are loaded with features and options that make other vest manufacturers very frustrated, and all at a price that cannot be beaten. Dollar for Dollar you simply won't get a bigger bang for your buck!

Policy Statement.

In view of the fact that MOST safety vests in use today are basically highly flammable and easily propagate flames we have decided to become the first and ONLY safety vest manufacturer to ONLY use flame retardant or flame resistant fabrics across the board as standard. In reality this has been in effect for over a year now.

As manufacturers we will totally absorb these extra costs and they will not be passed onto existing or future customers. After all, what use is a "safety" vest that burns easily? When is a safety vest safe? When it is built by Performance Clothing USA.

Also, where possible and practical we will be fully promoting the use of at least four point breakaway ANSI Class 2 vests as a basic standard. These will not only be high contrast (yellow background with wide orange tape and 2 stripes of high power reflective but should also include our patented/copyrighted high-definition features where possible.

We strongly believe that this effort will jump start a new wave of thoughtful, considered buying and not how cheap can a vest be. Our safety vests are extremely competitively priced and packed full of features that combine to provide high quality outstanding vests and prices that can really make a difference.

Check out contact us page for our help and guidance. Thanks.

May 2008

Hi Guys, Please feel free to check out our new downloads page. You can view a few documents there and download them and print them for your further consideration, say for a safety briefing or maybe a procurement discussion.

We have been working very closely with a specialist team from the U.S. Government to try and establish new industry standards and making it easier for YOU to consider and compare each vest, design or manufacturer.

One of our suggestions is detailed below:

Some manufacturers are still ONLY interested in ripping the customers off.  They do this is mainly two ways. The first is that the manufacturers simply does not understand the ANSI standards and they subtract the amount of minimum reflective from the minimum amount of background fabric. This gives them a  smaller vest and the customers a cheaper vest. It may even carry an ANSI label but it does not comply!.

Other manufacturers may do this deliberately, or they may say it is flame retardant but supply flammable fabrics when they have your order, or supply un-certified cheaper reflectives.

Our suggestions is that you ask the manufacturuer for a copy of their material certificates or at the very least a copy of their self-certification for the products you want to buy. Watch out there are sharks out there!

Another suggestions we have recomended is that a quality manufacturer clearly states on the garment the minimum areas required for the standard of the garment, and also clearly states the ACTUAL areas of that garment followed with a percentage number displaying exactly how much the garment is over the minumum areas.

That way the buyer can clearly see what they are buying and what YOU may be wearing!

This is another first for Performance Clothing USA. We try our best to lead the way and ensure you get the very best your dollar can buy.

No-one comes even close!

The Public Safety Command Vest

Since we launched our Public Safety Vest before the standard was finalised we have been extremely pleased by the feedback from our customers. It turns out the design was way ahead of its time. Since then we have had lots of positive feedback. Taking these experiences and comments into consideration we will shortly be launching a big brother to our high quality Public Safety Vest. The Total Command Vest. It is packed with more pockets, more features and at a very competitive price. Check back for details. Need more info, call, click or fax now.

It's here and NOW! and it will affect YOU!

Federal Highway Law affects ALL!

Finally, America is looking forward to a bright new future, a future where safety is not a dirty word or an "issue" on the bottom line. The Federal Final Ruling is now in effect, BUT with a two-year grace period in place. So companies, individuals, if you intend to or already work on a Federal highway ANYWHERE in America you MUST comply!

For example. If you carry out maintenance work, road work, grass cutting AND even emergency personnel, first-responders, you must wear the appropriate qualifying safety vest when in or NEAR a Federal Highway. Excemptions were filed but ALL were turned down upon the grounds of safety. Period!

So if you are a Police Officer doing a routine traffic stop, or a Emergency Worker you must get used to wearing your Class 2 or Class 3 vest. Don't be the first to fall foul of the new laws. Be safe, stay safe!

That way you'll be ahead of your competitors too.

Our quality, designs and materials all exceed ANSI 207/2006, and yet we are extremely competitively priced, and our garments are hand-built here in Maryland!

Don't wait till the last minute, the rush to comply will only get bigger. Buy now and avoiid last minute panics.

Sad News Today

Provisional figures from the
National Law Enforcment Memorial Fund
for 2006

Today provisional figures show that over ten per cent, yes over 10% of police officer fatalities during 2006 were caused by passing vehicles, (struck by vehicles).

We need a nationwide strategy that dictates that passing vehices move over one lane at least or stop if that is not possible. Also required a policy that every first responder wears a high visibility vest that complies or exceds with ANSI 107/2004 or ANSI 207/2006 whilst conducting "normal" duty traffic stops.

The job is dangerous enough without having to contend with these extra risks. Surely in this great and pleasant land, our leaders can work together to help protect our friends in blue, red and green?

A good quality safety vest can be seen at distances approaching 2,000 feet away at night, (our vest of course exceed that) This extra awareness distance can help the approaching drivers move, slow down change lanes and help reduce these dreadful figures. The target needs to be ZERO!

Please write to your representatives in Congress and the Senate. Don't sit idly by while these numbers increase each year. Ten per cent of fatalities can be avoided, easily, quickly and without spending millions of funds from others budgets.
